As I am sure we’ve mentioned here before, Machelle and I are obsessed with paper straws and have amassed quite a large collection of them! As a result, I am trying to make good use of them beyond using them as just straws. Turns out they make great place cards! And all you have to do is use any straw flags (I’ve provided some here for download as well) and write your guest’s name on the flag!
In other news, I am heading out to Utah tomorrow and could. not. be. more. excited!! We will be celebrating Stella’s one year birthday and it will be a fantastic, celebration-filled weekend. I cannot wait!!

- Paper straws //

- Marker //
- Flowers //
- Flags
1. Download the drink flags below:
2. Cut out the flags and wrap them around your straws. You may have to trim the flag depending on how long you want them to be.
3. Write your guest’s name on the flag using any color marker or pen.
4. Cut the straw your desired length (I made them just a little shorter than the napkins)
5. Cut a single flower shorter than the straw and slip it inside!
Place them on top of your plates and you are ready for your guests!
well shoot. that’s just so clever and just so cute… and i totally just bought those paper plates and straws at target yesterday sooo i’m all set. But… how does one stick them to the straw? glue? i’m clueless mal. I need help. your help.
Lara! First of all you’re hilarious and so nice! Secondly, all I did was place it inside the straw (it was a snug fit) and then I cut the stem. If the stem does not fit inside the straw I think it would work to just glue the flower to the outside and then place that down on the napkin (so it is in the back) . I would just use hot glue to do that.
Let me know if that does not make sense! Oh and if you do it, take a pic and tag us!!! :)
