Simple Copper Mirror Stand

April 14, 2016 ·

Copper pipe has been somewhat sparse over here lately. So I thought it was about time to feature it in a home decor project.

I don’t have a great full-length mirror and actually for the longest time I didn’t have any longer mirror. Evaluating my outfit was basically me standing a little precariously on top of our tub peeking into the small bathroom mirror! Well finally a few years later I scored a free mirror from my friend with the idea that I would dress it up and finally have done it!

    Materials

  • 1/2 inch copper pipe (one 5 foot piece is plenty)//
  • Copper pipe cutter //
  • 4 – 45 degree copper elbows //
  • Optional: gorilla glue

Start by cutting the following lengths of copper pipe: 4 pieces of copper pipe 6 inches long and 2 2-3 inches long.

Attach the pipe as below – the smaller piece with two elbows on the end. Next, add the two 6 inch pieces to both of the elbows. This will create a U shape and will go under the mirror.

To make it secure I simple add small amounts of gorilla glue to each of the connections. First I out the pieces together to make sure I don’t need to adjust any of the pipe lengths and then I start at the end taking a piece out and adding glue to the ends and corners then replacing it back.

Place both pieces under the mirror!
