Rainbows are everywhere lately – from sidewalks to windows spreading cheer during this pandemic. They are the ultimate symbol of beauty and joy after sorrow.
For kids, creating rainbows are also a great way to practice colors, and if they are older throw in a science lesson talk about how rainbows are created! If they are younger, creating with pom poms is a great sensory material and a good way to practice their motor skills.
I started to develop a whole series of photos and steps but then realized it was not necessary. Just grab some glue (tacky or hot glue both work well), paper, and pom poms and create rainbows with various widths, numbers of rows, and color combinations. You can also decide to not glue them on paper and create them for fun on a table or floor then destroy and recreate again for as long as you want!
I also think these would be pretty adorable as a wall hanging. Have fun creating custom pom pom rainbows!
