DIY Easter Egg Ice Cream Cones

April 16, 2014 ·

finished5

This year, disguise your brightly dyed Easter eggs as ice cream cones!

finished1

    Materials

  • Jumbo eggs //
  • Sugar ice cream cones //
  • Dyeing materials //
  • Crepe paper streamers //
  • Scissors //
  • Hot glue gun

First, boil and dye your eggs. While you’re waiting on that, decorate your cones. Cut a section of crepe paper streamer into 3rds or 4ths, fold it over several times and then fringe cut the edges

crepe

Use a hot glue gun to attach around the edge of your cones.

To make a stand for them, use a section of foam board (mine was about 5 x 11 inches), trace nickels around the board:

and use an Xacto knife to cut the circles out. I took something we all have plenty of lying around this time of year, plastic eggs, and separated the two sides then hot glued together the rounded ends.

Hot glue one of these to each corner on the under side of your foam board.

When your eggs are boiled, dyed and dry, they’re ready to be displayed in your cones! Apply a little hot glue to the inside rim and then set the egg.

It shouldn’t be difficult to remove the egg for eating or it can be peeled right in the cone!

You’ve seen these bubble wrap calendars, right?

bubble-wrap-calendar-0

Everyone loves to pop bubble wrap! And this calendar lets you do it every. single. day. But the original Bubble Calendar is 4 feet long {who has wall space for that!?} and really isn’t very pretty. So let’s make our own!

  • Large bubbles bubble wrap //
  • Scissors //
  • Glue //
  • Calendar Templates //
  • Printer //
  • Copy paper or card stock

First, download my calendar templates.

Print each one out on 8.5″ x 11″ copy paper or card stock.

You’ll need large bubble wrap (about 1.25″ bubbles):

Capture

Cut or tear off a section larger than your paper.

cutoutbubble

Apply glue around the sides and bottom of your paper.

glue

Stick your bubble wrap onto the paper, making sure to match bubbles up with the numbers.

glued

Cut the bubble wrap so it’s flush with the edges of the paper.

cuttingCut the top above the numbers (you can follow along the chevron print to make sure its even)

cutting2

Apply glue under the bubble wrap between the chevron print and the numbers.

glue2

Press down along the glue and you’re done!

I hung mine on the wall with cute washi tape.

happy easter stickers- AJR

Print these on sticker paper and use for baskets, cards, gifts, boxes, anything! I used Avery sticker paper and stuck one on a $1 coral bucket from Target that I filled with Easter goodies. Enjoy!
