I am not sure why it is so hard for us to get good photos together, but alas it is. But the other weekend we were able to spend almost 4 full days together, just us two (and Stella)! It was the best.
Greg went to Russia with his brother and we talked about Machelle visiting while he was gone but then flights ended up not being a very good deal and I didn’t think it was going to happen. Until just two days before when Machelle texted me saying she bought tickets to come out and visit!! It was the best surprise EVER! And the first time Stella had visited me at home (or taken a plane ride). And according to Machelle the flight here and back home went about as smooth as it could have which is absolutely fantastic news because that means that one day we will do Paris together. It will happen.
Obviously we took advantage of the time together to hit up our favorite restaurants.
Like Ted’s Bulletin. We are just obsessed with their poptarts!
Baked & Wired. I will fight anyone who says there are better cupcakes than these in DC.
No food pictured, but this was at GBD where we had some yummy chicken & waffles. I bet you wish your brunch date was as pretty as mine!
Shockingly we still had time for other things besides eating. The first day was actually fairly nice so we took advantage and walked almost ten miles. First around Dupont, then at the zoo.
Unfortunately, I neglected to double-check the fine details on the zoo’s about page and failed to see that after 4:30 all the indoor exhibits are closed in March so by the time we got there almost all of the animals were inside. So Stella’s first zoo visit was somewhat of a disappointment, in sum total we saw 3 animals. Next time Stella! After we hit up Baked and Wired and walked around Georgetown.
The next day I thought we were going to visit the White House West Wing (the best perk of my job) but I learned that you need to submit even babies through security beforehand so it was a bust. But it got us ready and out of the house before noon. Which I am learning is a bit of an accomplishment with a baby ha. And since it was absolutely freezing we spent most of the day shopping indoors.
Stella didn’t mind all the metro rides!
Even though we run this blog together we almost never get to work on our projects together so we took advantage of the opportunity and spent half a day crafting. And it was seriously the best ever. I have to say that we are so much better together and having help for projects makes all the difference.
Some behind-the-scenes fun!
I also think that Stella really enjoyed my house. I mean it was probably her favorite place after her own home. Mostly because she got to hang out with her favorite aunt.
And I learned that it is hard to get good pics of crawling babies.
We spent most of our last morning trying to get good photos of us in Eastern Market. Which was not the most successful endeavor but I did happen to get some absolutely wonderful photos of Machelle and Stella.
I mean look how excited she is to see her mom!!
Don’t mind us using a stroller in a place of a tripod. Nothing to see here.
It was super cold this day, hence the crying. It took spring forever and ever to come to DC this year.
It was a fantastic fun-filled weekend and the only downside was when Machelle and Stella left. I honestly don’t know how I function in such a silent house. I am now counting down the days until I fly to Utah to celebrate Stella’s birthday (about 39 days if you are wondering). We seriously had the BEST time!!
Twin-Time…YEAH!
So glad you two were able to spend time together and catch up on your lives…there’s nothing better!
You are both so beautiful!! And Stella is the most adorable. I know you had a good time.
