I thought that I would be so on top of Valentine’s day and decorating my house since you have a month and a half after Christmas and really plenty of time to prep. But as of now I have no Valentine’s decorations up! If you are the same, you may be looking for a last minute way to make your place a little bit more festive. And while I adore the bright red and pink Valentine decor, sometimes you want something a bit more neutral. If you are in that boat, this easy wood and copper garland is perfect for you!
- Materials
- Copper marker //
- Pencil //
- Scissors //
- Twine //
- Tape or glue //
- Balsa Wood
1. Cut hearts out of the balsa wood using scissors. The wood is thin enough that you can easily do this.
2. Write your favorite conversation heart phrases on the hearts.
3. Use glue or tape to secure twine to the backs of the hearts!
And you are done!
I also toyed with painting these hearts or doing the lettering in colors you find on conversation hearts. But I ended up deciding to make these copper because it matches my house (I am still in love with copper although grays and golds and making their way into my favorites again).
