The other weekend I was able to throw a baby shower for Machelle (with some amazing help from my sister-in-law Deneigh, our great friend Amy, our mom and Machelle’s mother-in-law)! The weather was absolutely gorgeous and we had the best time celebrating the upcoming arrival of the baby girl with family and friends!
The shower was outside and everything about the location was beautiful!
The theme was a baby shower brunch with decor in mint, coral and gold.
We had balloons and a welcome sign to greet the guests as they arrived.
Since it was a brunch, we had a variety of delicious and sweet breakfast foods! Machelle’s mother-in-law did ALL of the food and it was delicious.
We served muffins, mini quiche, fruit cups, mini cinnamon rolls, donuts, bacon on a stick, tarts, crepes and cupcakes. We both like sweets maybe a bit more than the average person (ok, a lot more) so when we plan parties we tend to go overboard on the sweet side!
We had a crepe bar that was so yummy!
Keeping with the brunch theme, we had milk and orange juice in small milk bottles (I got the straws here).
We used wooden cutlery in small bags (from here) and napkins that I made (see this tutorial) with some paper napkins for extras.
For the food signs, I used glitter clothespins and signs I made:
Fresh flowers make every event better so we used a lot at the shower! The centerpieces were a variety of vases that Machelle spray painted gold, coral, and white. Ranunculus are my absolute favorite- they are just so ruffly and gorgeous so we used a lot of those, along with some mums, daisies, and wax as filler. We also had some vintage mason jars on the food table and favor table as well.
We also had a fabric garland, pom poms hanging from the trees, lanterns, and a coral frame for extra decor.
Our amazing friend put together these wood blocks for people to decorate for the baby! She covered them in papers in the shower color scheme and had vinyl letters and sharpies for people to use to decorate each block with. She even made an adorable box for the finished blocks to go in! She also put together advice cards and an advice book and had envelopes ready for people to write their names and addresses on.
For favors, I made earrings in the shower colors and mini kraft notebooks and put them in glassine bags and added a thank you tag and some glitter twine.
The shower was such a blast! Our good friends from high school came and it was so wonderful to spend time catching up and hearing about all the exciting things happening in everyone’s lives! I CANNOT wait for the baby girl to get here!!
Everything was wonderful. It was an amazing party. The last picture of the two of you is beautiful.
