In a perfect world, where we’re all filthy rich, all our parties and get-togethers would consist of glamorous glass dinnerware, right? But in the real less-than-perfect world, paper plates and cups make the party go round. However, just cus they’re not super fancy, doesn’t mean they can’t be unique, customized and pretty! We have quite a few simple ideas here on A Joyful Riot to get your plain paper cups to pop {see here and here} and this is another one: glitter bomb them!
BAM!
I know what you’re thinking= what a mess! And while I won’t lie and say it won’t be during the process of making them {duh, it’s glitter} the finished cups really won’t be! If you use a fine enough glitter and/or enough good glue, there is no reason it won’t stay pretty darn stuck to the cup.
So here we go!
- Materials
- Paper cups //
- Glitter //
- Mod Podge //
- Brush
Alls you gotta do is paint the bottom of your cup with some mod podge. I wanted a sort of dipped, fade away look so I got the bottom really good then just swiped up lightly around the cup. You could always use a stencil to create a design or free-hand something though! After applying glue, pour a whole bunch a glitter all over that sucker.Allow them to dry and then love on em.
