Want to create a super easy painting that you don’t even need painting skills for?! Well good, cause that is about all I can do. But seriously, I love this easy DIY art because diamonds are so fun and you can pick any colors that match your decor. I chose an assortment of bright colors with some metallic gold as an accent.
- Materials
- Canvas (I used 18×20) //
- Acrylic Paints in a variety of colors (I used: mint, coral, light pink, gold, peach, golden yellow, bright blue, turquoise and purple) //
- Diamond shape //
- Ruler //
- Paint brush
Print out your diamond shape and cut out along the lines. Next, figure out where you want the diamonds to start- I had mine start 3 inches from the top and 3 inches from the bottom:
Next, start tracing around the shape. I had my diamonds about an inch apart from each other and traced loosely around each one with a pencil. I wasn’t very precise and I think it turned out ok!
Once you have all the diamonds penciled in, start painting them in. I did one color at a time and placed them all a few diamonds away from each other, like below in mint. I ended up with 4-6 diamonds per color.
When you are done painting, wait for it to dry. After the paint is all the way dry, erase any remaining pencil marks. I also only did one coat of paint but depending on how dark or even you want the diamonds, you may want to do another coat.
Hang up your new painting or display it on a shelf or table!
