Baby blankets are just the best for snuggling your newborn! This tutorial is really the easiest baby blanket tutorial ever and can make for a great shower gift.
- Materials
- 1 yard cotton fabric (you can get mine here) //
- 1 yard chenille fabric //
- sewing machine //
- scissors, thread, needle //
Since the size of my cotton fabric was 36″ by 42″ (most yards are 36 x 44), I simply used the entire yard for the blanket and put the chenille under the yard and cut around:
After your are done cutting, pin the fabric with the printed sides facing each other:
Sew around the edges, leaving an opening of several inches. Remember to back stitch at the beginning and end!
Cut around the corners:
Turn the blanket inside out. Pin the opening together and stitch it shut. I used a basic blind stitch (see this great how-to).
Next, iron the blanket and you are done!
