I am so excited about sharing today’s party craft idea! Now I have nothing against bouquets in a bridal party but why not do something a little bit different at by wearing fresh flower leis instead of carrying a bouquet? Or if you don’t have an upcoming wedding, how about giving out these leis as a party favor at your next party or shower? The possibilities here are pretty endless (psst…more ideas are at the end!)
These flower leis are surprisingly easy to make and of course are inspired by the traditional Hawaiin lei – which has been a favorite of mine since childhood. By using your favorite flowers (I picked daisies and asters) you can totally customize your lei to match your clothes or party theme! And if you want a longer lasting lei just use fake flowers from your local craft store.
Above I am wearing a lovely lei made from fake flowers I got at Michael’s. If you want a large lei like this one, buy bigger flowers. If you want a more dainty necklace grab some smaller blooms (note this will take more flowers overall) like my tulip lei below!
I actually love the fake flower leis just as much as the fresh flowers! But the fresh ones are easier to thread even if they don’t last long (mine lasted until the next day) so they both have their pros!

Here are some more ideas on how to use these fresh (or faux) flower necklaces!
As a Party Favor. Hand these out to guests as they leave your next party. This would fit in well at a bridal shower, baby shower, tea party, or brunch.
As a Bouquet Replacement. Wear a fresh flower lei instead of carrying a bridal bouquet.
As a replacement to Bridesmaid Corsages. Imagine the gorgeous visual of a whole bridesmaid party wearing various fresh flower leis.
As an alternative to a flower crown. Something different for festival season, perhaps?
As a Party Craft Activity. Have a flower lei station at your next bash! It’s perfect for both adults and kids.
