This year, disguise your brightly dyed Easter eggs as ice cream cones!
- Materials
- Jumbo eggs //
- Sugar ice cream cones //
- Dyeing materials //
- Crepe paper streamers //
- Scissors //
- Hot glue gun
First, boil and dye your eggs. While you’re waiting on that, decorate your cones. Cut a section of crepe paper streamer into 3rds or 4ths, fold it over several times and then fringe cut the edges
Use a hot glue gun to attach around the edge of your cones.
To make a stand for them, use a section of foam board (mine was about 5 x 11 inches), trace nickels around the board:
and use an Xacto knife to cut the circles out. I took something we all have plenty of lying around this time of year, plastic eggs, and separated the two sides then hot glued together the rounded ends.
Hot glue one of these to each corner on the under side of your foam board.
When your eggs are boiled, dyed and dry, they’re ready to be displayed in your cones! Apply a little hot glue to the inside rim and then set the egg.
It shouldn’t be difficult to remove the egg for eating or it can be peeled right in the cone!
Happy Easter!
