I modified this tutorial from this excellent project here. I’ve been wanting to try this for awhile and finally did! This is such an easy way to really take your party or event up a notch. Napkins are a small detail, but to me the small details make a huge difference!
- Materials
- Cotton fabric (A Joyful Riot has custom designs available here)
- Sewing materials (thread, scissors)
- Sewing machine
- Iron
Cut out your fabric into a rectangle measuring 6.5″ by 12.5″
Fold the rectangle in half, with the patterned side facing each other:
Sew along the two sides of the rectangle (remember to backstitch):
On the open side, fold the edges over about a half inch and iron to keep in place:
Turn the rectangle out so the patterned sides are facing out and iron:
Sew along the perimeter- about 1/4″ from the edge:
I did one more row of stitching about 1/4″ away from the first row.
I love them!
