I love experimenting with new mediums and lately I’ve really been loving clay! It can be used for SO many projects. This clock is really easy so let’s get started!
- Materials
- Premier Clay //
- X-acto knife //
- Clock Kit //
- Paint //
- Paper //
- Octagon template //
- Glue //
- Awl //
Take the clay out of the package and roll it out using a rolling pin:
This will take a few minutes, try to make it as even as possible and leave about 1/2 inch of thickness.
Take the octagon template, cut it out and place on top of the clay. Then use an x-acto knife to cut around the shape:
Use an awl to make a hole in the center of the octagon:
Now, wait for it to dry. I waited 48 hours. During this stage, make sure to turn the clock over so it gets both sides and prop it up on a surface so that it can dry all around.
Once it is dry, paint the clock. I spray painted the clock copper:
Wait for the paint to dry and then use glue to cover it with the paper of your choice. Once the glue is dry, use the owl to poke through the paper where the hole is.
Affix the clock kit according to the instructions:
