We are rounding out our birthday week with these fun birthday candle rings! Last year we used birthday candles to make gilded jewelry but this year we are going bright and using the candles as is.
These have an added bonus of being a subtle way to remind people that it is your birthday. Think about it: if you wear a birthday candle ring on your finger on your birthday I am sure someone will notice and ask questions about it! Then you can just say “oh, this thing. I’m wearing it because it is my birthday!”
These would be great for a kid’s birthday party activity as well. They are so simple and you can make them totally unique by picking out different types of candle bases. To make the rings I used these ring bases from PandaHall – they sent us some samples for free and they made the perfect, simple base plus they are adjustable.
- Materials
- Adjustable ring base //
- birthday candles //
- gorilla glue //
- scissors //
- nail polish (optional)
1. Cut the candle to the size you want.
2. Use gorilla glue to glue it to the base either horizontally or vertically. There are tons of ways and combinations you can do here.
3. An option is also to use nail polish to color the base like you see below. I used yellow nail polish to create simple dots! Also, if you put the candle on the base upright you have to get a little creative while it dries but using jewelry pliers to hold it up worked perfect!
Sorry that I am one of the worst hand models out there but I wanted you to at least see one photo of these rings in use!
Such an incredible ring! Absolutely brilliant!
Thanks so much!! :)
