I’ve had this one brown faux fur vest for like 5 years now. I can’t remember where I got it but I assume it was thrifted and I’m pretty sure I’m the only person who has ever liked it. Not cus fur vests aren’t the best {they are!} but because this one in particular is not the prettiest. But I love it still and I don’t care what anyone says!!
But, in general, I think people really love fur vests and who doesn’t love one on a baby!? I’ve gotten Stella a few from stores like H&M and Target for probably $15 each but when I saw this brown faux fur at Joann’s and it was on sale, I got enough to make 2 vests for like $3.
And unlike my old brown faux fur vest, this one is soft and plushy and adorable and I am not the only person who loves it! Right??
- Materials
- Faux fur (I made a 12 month size one using half of 1/8 yard //
- Any cotton fabric to line with //
- Sewing machine //
- Scissors //
- Pattern
1. Use the pattern to cut one back piece and two front pieces from your fur and your lining fabric. Go by whatever lines you need for your babe (up to 12 month size available in the pattern but you can add about an inch all around for each six months up.)
2. Sew the fur pieces, right sides together, only down the sides (not the shoulders) and do the same with the lining pieces.
3. Put the right sides of the fur and the lining together, pin around all the edges and sew along the whole edge, still not sewing the shoulders together.
4. Flip it all right sides out and pin the shoulders together (right sides together) then sew that.
5. Put on your babe and have a photoshoot like we did!!
Look at that little tushy!! haha she’s just too much fun to dress up! Also, what about this adorable romper?! Its from Rags and its the softest, true to size little cutie! <3
