Decadent Vanilla Bean {Ice Cream} Syrup

November 30, 2015 ·

Vanilla Bean Ice Cream Syrup. The most decadent syrup ever, perfect for neighbor Christmas gifts with free printable tags and labels ajoyfulriot.com @ajoyfulriot

I’m so excited to share this recipe with you today! My mom first made this syrup probably 10 years ago and it was love at first bite! This. Is. Crazy. Good. Like really, there are almost no words!

Now, being someone that belongs to the Buddy The Elf crowd (in that I believe syrup is one of the four main food groups) I don’t believe you can go wrong with any syrup! French toast is amazing, waffles are amazing, pancakes are amazing, but let’s be real, the only reason I eat those things is for a way to get the syrup into my mouth. I literally drench my breakfast baked goods in the stuff. And I’ll take any kind! Can’t go wrong with a good maple but I am sure a sucker for flavored kinds, especially berry ones.

My dad is a syrup aficionado, both of my parents always made matching syrups to our breakfasts. Blueberry pancakes got blueberry syrup, etc. But there were these few months growing up, I wanna say Malissa and I were like 12…where my dad went crazy with the syrups! I remember a strawberry-kiwi one, a lemon one and one time we went camping and forgot the syrup and he whipped up a Tang one. Yeah, the weird orange juice drink! We had a carton and he somehow thickened it up and we put it on our pancakes haha!

But none of the syrups I’ve ever had in my life compare to this beauty right here. And I guarantee none that you’ve eaten will either! K listen, here is everything you need to know–ICE CREAM IS ONE OF THE INGREDIENTS in this syrup.

Not kidding. Ice cream is melted and mixed in to other amazing, decadent ingredients (read: cream, vanilla and sugar) and the lushess, thick result is TO DIE FOR. Like literally, if someone walked into my house with a gun and threatened to take it from me, I might do some crazy jump-roll-dive-thing to save it.

And, with Christmas coming up, I really think you’ll win over the neighborhood by handing this life-changingness out as gifts. But be warned, them neighbors are probably gonna come calling for the recipe!

Even if you don’t want to buy cute syrup bottles (which you can find in restaurant supply stores or often in places like Big Lots for about $3 a piece), I think just using mason jars would be more than perfect enough.

We’ve done all the work for you by making these free printable labels to put on the jars and gift tags that are perfect for any gift, not just this syrup! So click through for the recipe and then scroll to the bottom for both those freebies!

      Hi Josie!
This is actually just a syrup bottle I saved that used to have maple syrup in it. But I’ve seen cute ones at restaurant supply stores, google one close to you, or you can find the kind restaurants use with the slide back metal top online for around $3 each (search ‘syrup dispenser’) or I’ve even seen cute ones at Big Lots. Hope that helps!

For the sugar is it 1/2 cup? 1/2 teaspoon? 1/2 Tablespoon? Just wanting to make sure before I mess it up!
