So guess what?! I lied the other day when I said this birthday wasn’t special-er than other birthdays. Because it most certainly IS more special than at least the last three. Malissa is coming to Utah to spend it with meee! That’s right, three long years my twin and I haven’t gotten to parade around together on our birthday sipping milkshakes and shirking all life’s boring duties, like school and work. But this year. This year is different. And we can hardly wait!!
In the meantime, we’ll count down the days with birthday crafts, mmk? And I’m pretty in love with this one. Party Pail sent me some cute little treat cups and I’ve been thinking of so many things to do with them. Today I give you, Cup Cakes.
Get it? CUP cakes! Ba dum tss!

Make some paper straw candles by cutting your paper straws in fourths then fold a little square of yellow tissue paper and twist it on the bottom. Put a little dab of glue inside one end of your straw piece and stick the tissue paper in there.
Fill your cups with treats. The awesome thing about these cups and that they’re the perfect size. Perfect for all kinds of candy, toys, cookies, basically anything you can think of!
Trace the opening of a cup on some card stock (so probably this step should be before thata one ^ but hey….) and cut your circles out. Dab some hot glue all along the rim of your cup then stick the circle to it.
Put some glue on the bottom of your paper straw candles and adhere them to the top of your cakes!
Won’t your birthday party guests just be delighted by the clever way you’re handing out their treats/favors? I think so.
We were also delighted to see that we were mentioned on this top DIY blog list! Check it out- it has some of our absolute favorite bloggers, plus a few new ones and we always love exploring new blogs!
I absolutely LOVE this clever packaging idea! I’m a sucker for clever packaging in general, but this one takes the cake! Pun intended. ;-) Any chance you’d like to link it up at this week’s Party Time link party? (http://tikkido.com/node/1045) I think our readers would flip over this project!
Thanks so much Nikki! I just headed over and added it to the already amazing list, thanks for the invite! xoxo
These are so cute! Such a unique packaging idea! Thank you for linking up to Party Time and we hope to see you again next week!
