Printable Valentine Magnets & Cards

January 30, 2018 ·

Print out these cute Valentine flair magnets for a non candy valentine!

I’ve had a pack of printable magnet paper lying around for a while and was waiting for a great project! I thought that magnets that looked like flair pins would be really fun and cute and the perfect thing to hand out for a non-candy valentine option!

This was such an easy project, just took a little bit of time to cut everything out. You could just do one magnet per card to make the printable go even further.

What I love about these is that they’re great for any age! I love them, I mean, I made them for me (and to send to Malissa) but when my three year old saw them cut out, she kept saying how much she loved them! She kept laying them out and picking her favorites! This may be why I do so well with children… haha! But really, I think they’re just likable no matter what age you are. And while these definitely skew female (think Galentine’s Day!) there are plenty of boy-appropriate ones to.

Basically all my favorite clipart I’ve ever made is on these bad boys! I already decided I need to print another page because I need more to hand out and then I need a page just for me! I need more fridge magnets anyway :)

“My Life Would Suck Without You” Free Printable Valentines

February 13, 2016 ·

Kelly Clarkson %22My Life Would Suck Without You%22 Valentine Printables from ajoyfulriot.com @ajoyfulriot-6t

I wanted to throw in one more quick little Valentine idea in case you’re running really last minute and need a quick fix! I mentioned the other day how I still have tons of 90’s lyric ideas but I decided for this last one, to pay homage to my first ever guilty pleasure pop icon, miss Kelly Clarkson.

Ok, I know that maybe some of the song lyric Valentines we’ve already shared this year, you might consider guilty pleasures. But, for me, they definitely do not fit in to that category! When I was a kid I felt SO COOL listening to Salt N’ Pepa and Britney Spears and you know what? I still do…

But, when I got into high school I hit this major hipster phase in which I “hated” anything popular, especially in the music industry. Except Kelly. I just always really loved Kelly. She has the catchiest tunes (Well, and Katy Perry..) and I just couldn’t help but belt them all out. But I didn’t really admit that to anyone but Malissa…

Then, one day a group of our friends and our brother Steven went to see a movie. This was in 2006 I believe…I remember we saw the sequal to Zorro, I make it a point to not remember what it was called because it literally was the world’s worst movie (also Premonition blows). But, as we were driving home we were having so much fun blasting music and discussing the terribleness we just watched. And then Kelly came on. I don’t even remember what song it was…probably Since U Been Gone…and we all, one by one, admitted how secretly in love with Kelly we were.

I know this sounds so super silly but like I had really cool friends ok? We just didn’t jam with the radio! Haha, no really for some reason we all just said we’d felt kind of embarrassed about it and then died of happiness when every person in the car was like, “No. She’s the bomb.”

And then we all belted out with the radio super loudly and it was the best.

Easy DIY Conversation Heart Coasters

February 11, 2016 ·

conversationheart_coaster8

Conversation heart everything, am I right?! They are one of the best parts of the holiday even if, and let’s be honest, they don’t taste that great.

I was just thinking about coasters the other day and thinking “well I could have prevented ruining my dining table if I just used coasters!” And then I think I place my water bottle on top of the table, with no coaster. I am learning (slowly). Maybe if I always had cute holiday coasters I would use them more! Here is to hoping!

I cannot believe Valentine’s Day is already this week, gah! How do all these holidays always come up so fast?!

We don’t go very overboard celebrating V Day at my house so I’m not stressed about it at all I’m just kind of sad because I had so many more of these 90’s lyric inspired Valentine ideas I wanted to share with you! Now there isn’t enough time to get them all in so I guess maybe next year?? Gosh, I hope the 90’s are still cool in 2017…

Even if they’re not, I couldn’t let this year pass without paying Valentine tribute to one of my very very fave 90’s hits, “Push It” by Salt N’ Pepa. This tune will never get old! It’s universal I tell ya! And even if it’s not, you know what is? Party poppers! EVERYBODY loves party poppers. We’ve been trying to include lots of non-candy Valentine ideas this year and this is probably my favorite just because it involves confetti! (psst…we did confetti popper valentines last year too!)

If, for some unimaginable reason, party poppers aren’t your thing (ok, I understand if a teacher may not appreciate these being given out in class…) then there are so many other ideas you could do! Baby bottle pops would be perfect, Hersey’s kisses, candy or wax lips, lip stickers, suckers (pops!), ETC!

So click through to get the free printable available at the end of the post!

Mini Wood and Copper Conversation Heart Garland

February 6, 2016 ·

conversationheart_garland4

I thought that I would be so on top of Valentine’s day and decorating my house since you have a month and a half after Christmas and really plenty of time to prep. But as of now I have no Valentine’s decorations up! If you are the same, you may be looking for a last minute way to make your place a little bit more festive. And while I adore the bright red and pink Valentine decor, sometimes you want something a bit more neutral. If you are in that boat, this easy wood and copper garland is perfect for you!
