A Floral Pink and Rose Gold Bridal Shower

September 15, 2018 ·

Twinkle lights, s’mores & eucalyptus come together in this dreamy & romantic pink and rose gold bridal shower, perfect for warm summer evenings!

Is it too late in the year to share a summer evening bridal shower?! haha! What is kind of sad about this is that I actually threw it last summer, so yeah like over a year ago… I was waiting for the right time to share it this year but then whoops its already autumn! So I decided to just share it anyway for fear of it being to passe to share next year haha.

What’s good about it though, is like, well, everything. So I’m hoping that the little-too-lateness will be made up for with some dreamy florals, twinkle lights, and food in this pink and rose gold bridal shower!

DIY fresh flower leis

May 9, 2016 ·

I am so excited about sharing today’s party craft idea! Now I have nothing against bouquets in a bridal party but why not do something a little bit different at by wearing fresh flower leis instead of carrying a bouquet? Or if you don’t have an upcoming wedding, how about giving out these leis as a party favor at your next party or shower? The possibilities here are pretty endless (psst…more ideas are at the end!)

These flower leis are surprisingly easy to make and of course are inspired by the traditional Hawaiin lei – which has been a favorite of mine since childhood. By using your favorite flowers (I picked daisies and asters) you can totally customize your lei to match your clothes or party theme! And if you want a longer lasting lei just use fake flowers from your local craft store.

Above I am wearing a lovely lei made from fake flowers I got at Michael’s. If you want a large lei like this one, buy bigger flowers. If you want a more dainty necklace grab some smaller blooms (note this will take more flowers overall) like my tulip lei below!

I actually love the fake flower leis just as much as the fresh flowers! But the fresh ones are easier to thread even if they don’t last long (mine lasted until the next day) so they both have their pros!

Kitchen Bridal Shower

October 28, 2014 ·

kitchenshower19The other week I got to help some cute girls put together a bridal shower for my friend Claire! The theme was kitchen and the color purple which I paired with gold and mint. I just love mint and try to include it in everything. It was so fun to get together and celebrate the upcoming marriage for Claire and Nick!

I found these adorable mini mint colanders at World Market and of course had to get them! I bought some purple tulips, baby’s breath and asters and Claire’s roommate Kat did an amazing job arranging them in the colanders.kitchenshower3I wanted to use a few other kitchen items for decor and grabbed my cup measurer and sauce server to round out the flower decor:kitchenshower13kitchenshower10 I even incorporated their cook books! I had some leftover mint berry baskets from Machelle’s shower and had to use them somehow. They made perfect utensil holders:kitchenshower6Rounding out the shower were a few extra details around the room: pictures of the adorable couple, flags in purple mason jars, and a welcome sign:kitchenshower8 kitchenshower18 kitchenshower9And look how gorgeous the cake was! It was just as delicious as it looks.kitchenshower14 kitchenshower15 kitchenshower1

Vintage Candyland Bridal Shower

June 3, 2014 ·

When our brother got married last summer, we knew a Candyland themed bridal shower was a must for our soon to be sister-in-law since her new last name would be Candland.

candylandinviteThe invitation and party graphics were inspired by a vintage Candyland game board, using actual graphics from the board, little colorful squares inspired by the winding path of the game and the brown, pink and cream colors of the neapolitan ice cream floats seen on the older games.

We printed some additional info onto actual playing cards from a Candyland game and put one in every envelope with the invitation.

We filled the party with lots of color. All the food was as colorful as we could make it!

All the pathways leading to the party were lined with these cute giant balloon lollipops:

A simple DIY of painting empty wrapping paper tubes white, attaching a long strip of ribbon to a blown up balloon, threading that through the tube and surrounding the balloon with clear cellophane. We hammered short wooden stakes into the ground and put the tubes over them, it held them up great!

Finally, every table had a portion of the candy buffet spread amongst apothecary jars and set atop a Candyland game board. Guests were advised to visit any of the tables and take as much as they wanted!

The invitation is for sale in our Etsy shop here and the other graphics, plus tons more are available for purchase here!
