Today is Dr. Seuss’ birthday!! While this craft is a little late, it really is the simplest thing ever and you might already have all the items you need on hand in case you want to throw this together for a little ode to the man. If not, maybe this will be useful for a Dr. Seuss or Cat in the Hat party at a later date!
This post includes two free printables and 5 fun Seuss themed treat ideas! Seuss really did write some absolutely fantastic things, I really do love the message of most his books and I disturbingly discovered that I don’t own one! Not one Seuss book! I promise I’ll rectify that for my little girl ASAP! For now, Cat in the Hat favor cups!!

1. Cut your strips out using my template. You can just use normal copy paper for this. Tape them around the cup.
2. Fill it with goodies!
3. Cut circles (from the template) out of cardstock and hot glue them to the bottom of each cup, then kind of bend up the edges of the circle with your fingers.
I wanted to do themed gifts so I put bits of cotton candy on the tips of pieces of paper straws for The Lorax.
Little compasses with a free printable attached and a little tube of touchable bubbles for Oh The Places You’ll Go!
Swedish Fish for One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.
And I colored gummy fried eggs with my edible food coloring pen but I really think you could use drops of food color and paint it on just as easily!
Hope you guys find a way to celebrate Dr Seuss’ birthday today, even if it’s just reading one of his books ! (hey it’ll be better than I’ll do…)
And if you do make these little hat cups, theres a free printable sign for you to put out with them.
What are the hubba bubba tube things?
They are touchable bubbles :) I thought they went well with “Oh The Places You’ll Go” because he floats around holding a bubble-like thing.
