Almost two years ago, we had a little niece born at only 24 weeks. She was so tiny and fragile {only 1.5 lbs!} and spent the next 4 months in the NICU, enduring many intense surgeries. But that little girl of ours is one tough cookie! She is doing so wonderful now and makes amazing progress every day. She is such a joy to our family!
To celebrate her arrival we threw her a vintage carnival themed baby shower and it was so much fun!
Instead of the usual bright circus colors, we went with soft pink, blue, orange and green to give it more of the vintage feel we were going for while also being appropriate for a little baby girl.
The other part of the theme was “small” since little Emmalynn was so small. So all the food was miniaturized.
We had a whole, delightful treat table with the “small” theme as well
We also had a local shaved ice catering company, Hawaiian Ice, cater the event since shaved ice is a must at any carnival or circus! They did a wonderful job, anyone in the Utah area looking for a unique dessert at their next event, I’d highly recommend them. Their ice is soft as a cloud and you can pick flavors that match your event! We went with bubblegum, dreamsycle and pina colada…mmm….
We hung plastic table clothes and tiny tissue paper pom poms from the back of the deck to create a fun little photobooth.
To help give everyone an idea of just how little miss Emmalynn was, we created this table with visual aids and pictures of her to go with them.
This shower was the absolute funnest thing in the world. Putting it together and just getting to celebrate our little miracle was such a joy!
Here is the little cutie herself. When she was new and now:
Don’t you just want to hug her?! ♥ ♥ ♥
