It’s National S’more Day today! Haha, don’t all these national food days just kill you?! This is definitely one I can get behind though cus s’mores.
Sometimes though, the typical graham, chocolate bar, marshmallow just don’t quite hit the spot, you’re looking for a little more something, amiright?
Don’t worry, I understand and I’m here to get you out of your little s’more slump. In honor of National S’more Day, I’ve created 6 inspiring s’mores with unique (but not crazy exotic or anything!) ingredients and they’ll all be sure to bring that sticky, ooey, gooey goodness you know you NEED to your life today!
So, for all you looking to amp up your s’more game, look no further! Well do look a little further..down the page..you know..
1. Strawberry Shortcake S’mores
These little darlin’s are made up of a shortcake cookie, a square of white chocolate and a toasted strawberry mallow. A sweet little ode to another one of summer’s dearest desserts.
2. Maple Bacon Waffle S’more
Whip up some waffles, slather them in maple syrup then sandwich cooked bacon, a toasted marshmallow and some chocolate in between them. Trust me, if you haven’t ventured into the bacon dessert world YOU NEED TO. Maple and bacon were born to go together and a warm, sticky marshmallow just adds to the tantalizing taste.
This isn’t a new concept by any means but I remember when my family discovered it when I was a child. Occassionally that big square of chocolate is just too much right? It doesn’t get melty or whatever and it kind of interrupts the whole jive of your s’more. Enter Fudge Stripe Cookies. They have a perfectly graham/chocolate taste without the overwhelming hard candy. I think it’s the perfect ratio and still my favorite way to eat a typical s’more.
I discovered and posted about this life changingness a couple months ago. Sandwiching toasted marshmallows between two frosted animal cookies is YUH UH ME!
5. Ice Cream Cone S’mores
Whip up some funfetti waffles (recipes abound for these but I just found a box mix at the store from Hungry Jack) then spread on some chocolate spread or syrup. Top with a toasted mallow and drizzle the whole thing with icing/glaze/frosting. Then throw a cherry on for good measure (that you’ve also heated in the fire of course!).
6. Milkshake Wafer S’mores
I call these milkshake s’mores because they’re a mix of strawberry, cookies n’ cream and chocolate which are like the most typical shake flavors! Crispy sweet strawberry wafer cookies make up the outside and I spread on some cookies n’ cream/chocolate spread I found at the store (in the peanut butter section) then I used strawberry marshmallows instead of regular ones. MM MM MM!
Well I hope I’ve at least inspired you to create a unique sticky treat today or some time before the summer ends (HURRY!) but let me know if you try one of these. I found them all to be absolutely delightful and I hope you do too!
PLUS, if you head on over to our Instagram, I posted one more s’more idea there. It requires NO ASSEMBLY whatsoever and may actually be my very favorite way to s’more. Happy s’more day ya’ll!
