You guys. This is our 100th post!! This has been the best thing for Malissa and I. It’s such an awesome way for us to connect over the 2,000 miles between us. It forces us to stay creative and it allows us to grow and learn new things every day. We’re so excited we’re to 100 posts and we’re excited about the next 100 (and the 100 after that!)
To celebrate we made these little number cake toppers with pinata fringe atop glittery sticks! Let’s do it!
- Materials
- Tissue paper //
- Cardboard //
- Glitter //
- Mod Podge //
- Brush //
- Skewers //
- Glue stick //
- Xacto knife
First, either hand draw the numbers you need or choose a font to print out. Cut the numbers out and trace them on to cardboard. Then cut them out with an xacto knife. I always cut on another piece of cardboard.
Now cut your tissue paper into little fringed pieces and apply to your numbers using a glue stick and layering them from the bottom up.
Trim the excess fringe inside and around your numbers.
Apply Mod Podge to your skewers (I cut mine in half) and then pour glitter over them.
Get some glue onto the back of your numbers and then press the top of the skewers on to it.
That’s it!
Now put em in cake! And then eat the cake, ok!?
